From 18 to 26 September, San Sebastián hosts a new edition of its International Film Festival, one of the city’s most important cultural events of the year. For nine days, cinemas, theatres and iconic venues host premieres, encounters and screenings that transform the atmosphere of Donostia.

The 74th edition once again features an extensive programme, with the Official Selection alongside sections such as New Directors, Horizontes Latinos, Zabaltegi-Tabakalera, Perlak, Zinemira, Culinary Zinema and Klasikoak.

But Zinemaldia is also experienced beyond the cinemas. During these days, the city takes on a different rhythm: the Kursaal, the Victoria Eugenia Theatre and much of central San Sebastián become the heart of the Festival, while streets, terraces and restaurants fill with visitors and film industry professionals.

Staying just outside San Sebastián allows you to combine the Festival with a more peaceful stay, especially after a day of screenings and activity in the city.

The Festival continues until Saturday, 26 September, when the awards for this year’s edition will be announced.
